Cengiz Holding to Build Prefabricated City in Adıyaman

The city, which is targeted to be completed in the second half of March, will include 100 containers and 120 prefabricated structures, socialization areas, children’s playgrounds, and a dining hall.

ISTANBUL (AA) - Cengiz Holding has started the construction of a prefabricated city for 1,250 people in Adıyaman.

According to a statement released by Cengiz Holding, the city, which is targeted to be completed in the second half of March, will include 100 containers and 120 prefabricated structures, socialization areas, children’s playgrounds, and dining halls.

The prefabricated city, built on an area of 40 thousand square meters in Adıyaman, will consist of structures ranging in size from 21 to 36 square meters. Designed in the form of 1+1 flats, the structures will meet the needs of the victims, including bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens. The buildings, where disaster victims will start to settle gradually from next week, will be completed in the second half of March.

Cengiz Holding, of which the group companies Eti Bakır, Eti Alüminyum, Cengiz Enerji, Cengiz İnşaat and its subsidiaries Kalehan Enerji, İGA, Boğaziçi Electricity Distribution (BEDAŞ), Çamlıbel Electricity Distribution (ÇEDAŞ), Akdeniz Electricity Distribution (AEDAŞ) and Meram Electricity Distribution (MEDAŞ) have been supporting the search and rescue efforts with their expert teams and construction equipment working in mining operations since the first day of the earthquake, has delivered 90 trucks containing the supplies announced by AFAD to the earthquake zone.

Since the first week of the earthquake, the company has served hot meals to 20,000 people every day in 5,000-person food tents in Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Malatya and Kahramanmaraş, and provided two bread factories in İslahiye and Hatay.

Cengiz Holding, which has provided a total of 3 billion liras in cash support to AFAD and Ahbap, is also trying to find solutions to the need for temporary shelter with the tents it has started to erect by purchasing machinery.
